Miracle Ortega gained her angel wings on Tuesday February 15th. She was 17 years old. Her cause of death was not disclosed. The greatest happiness Miracle ever felt was a day when she was 8, on a beach trip with her family. Some years later, looking out at the water at night, Miracle loosely remembered being a child when, on summer days at the beach, she would hold onto her father’s broad, red, shoulders as he walked neck deep in the ocean water.

She remembered the feeling of his leathery skin on her soft hands, and laughing at the hairy moles that lined the back of his neck. When she died she thought about this and felt calm.
